Committee on Education
Mission: The Committee shall develop and help others to develop educational programs and materials on land information issues.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Develop educational materials for members and for guidance to organizations implementing Land/Geographic Information Systems. Topics should include those identified by the Technical Issues Committee. This activity should be coordinated with the Communications Committee, which distributes materials. 2. Assist the President Elect in the development and execution of the program for the Annual Conference. 3. Develop the program for the General Membership Meetings. 4. Advise the membership on resources that support continuing education needs. 5. Annually adopt a three to five year plan on specific goals for achievement. 6. Submit to the Secretary a list containing the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all committee members. 7. Perform such other duties as the Board of Directors may assign. 8. Prepare a report on achievements and activities, together with recommendations for the upcoming year, for presentation at the Annual Meeting.
Membership: The membership of the Committee shall consist of a Chairperson and other members of the Association as appointed by the Chairperson. The President shall appoint a chairperson who shall be a member of the Board. The terms of appointment shall be for one year.
