2010 Auction Items
WLIA 6th Annual Silent Auction Fax-in Donation Form
"It is for the kids!!"
It is that time again to ask for your help in giving back to the Association for a great cause – the Damon Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund. At the 2009 Annual Conference we raised almost $3,000 for the scholarship fund. With these funds, the Association provided 2 scholarships to students attending our state Universities. Hopefully someday, these students will be the visionaries for our organization.
While we would love to beat that amount this year, given the economy it will be even more difficult to get donations – so our goal for 2010 is $3,000. This amount would allow the Association to provide (3) three - $1,000 dollar scholarships.
We have now established The WLIA Foundation, Inc. that has an application pending for tax exemption under IRC Section 501(c)(3). All donations to this charitable foundation are tax deductible!
To hit this target, we really need your help to get donations for the auction. Wisconsin has so many neat places to visit, stay and eat. It even has more local businesses and artists that we could draw upon. We are hoping that you would be willing to contact some of the local businesses in your area and ask for a donation. Even if each member could at least call one local business to ask for a donation, it would make a huge impact on our auction. Another option would be to email contact information for a local business or chamber of commerce that the committee could contact.
The following letter explains the background of the scholarship that can be used when trying to obtain a donation, which is tax deductible. We need to make a collective effort this month to make this a success. Please let us know by the end of the month what donations you have been able to get.
