Wisconsin GIO Announces Retirement

Hear is the letter from Curt Pulford announcing his retirement. I wish Curt all the best in the future!

Colleagues,

I am writing to inform you that I will be retiring and leaving Wisconsin state service in early July.

There is no ‘ideal’ time to leave a position with ongoing and recurring responsibilities. My decision was based on family desires to relocate to a warmer climate, and timing that would allow this to happen prior to the start of my children’s next school year.

David Cagigal, Herb Thompson, and DET management have been provided with transition information regarding my current and ongoing responsibilities. Their desire is to continue efforts in support of enterprise GIS and they will work with GIO staff in fulfilling current project responsibilities.

As I leave, the state GIS stakeholder community is preparing several strategies with broad impacts for the State of Wisconsin. I have great confidence that you will continue to lead those efforts to successful conclusions.

I wish you all the best and thank you for working with me over the years.
