We need students! Specifically, student volunteers for the 2015 Annual WLIA Conference being held February 19 & 20 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, WI. Please review the program and if you are a student let us know whether you’d like to volunteer or monitor any tracks by visiting the 2015 Annual Conference Page. Students working a half day at the conference will receive free registration and lunch for that day!
Student jobs include poster registration and take down, working at the silent auction, assisting with audio/visual equipment, and working as room monitors (duties include turning on and off lights, passing out handouts, etc.). Working as a student volunteer will give you exposure to professionals within the GIS, Urban Planning, and Land Records fields. There will also be a job board at the conference, feel free to bring your resume.
Please take a look at the preliminary program available on the 2015 Annual Conference Page and fill out the student volunteer and moderator sign up form located on the 2015 Annual Conference Page by Tuesday, February 10th, please check the duties that you would be willing to work (i.e. student monitor, poster registration/take down, audio/visual equipment, silent auction). If you would like to work as a student monitor, please check the sessions you would like to work. All student volunteer duties will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Students are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and meals. Lunch will be provided.
The week of the conference you will receive a final confirmation e-mail and reminder. There will also be a short meeting for student volunteers on Thursday morning, February 19th. Those meeting details will be included in the confirmation e-mail. If you have any questions, please contact Martin Goettl at (715) 836-4709. Again, thank you for your help and we will see you at the conference!
