WLIA is pleased to announce the 2015 Award Recipients from this years conference.
Each year at our Annual Conference, the Wisconsin Land Information Association honors a group of our colleagues for their dedication to WLIA and the broader Wisconsin geospatial community. Congratulations go out to our 2015 award recipients! The awards were presented by outgoing WLIA President Justin Conner on Friday, February 20th, 2015.
Given to an individual or organization that demonstrates sustained service to WLIA and the WLIP, through continued exemplary contributions. The Allen H. Miller Sustained Service Award is named after our first President and continuing friend and supporter.
Jodi is recognized for her long carrier as a land information professional and as an advocate of digital land information. She has been a long standing member of WLIA for as long as most can remember going back to the early 90’s. She is also a past president and has served numerous terms on the board of directors and various committees. Her contributions to WLIA and Wisconsin’s land information community as a whole are immeasurable. It is a great honor to present Jodi with this esteemed award.
Given to an individual or organization that is not a WLIA member and has contributed to the success or advancement of land records modernization in Wisconsin.
The Ho-Chunk Nation GIS is under the Heritage Preservation Dept. – Division of Natural Resources since 1991. They map tribal land spread across the state, and they have been involved with mapping wolf populations in the Jackson County Area. They have their own Register of Deeds Office in their Justice Center to centralize records from 14 different county offices and BIA offices. They have also mapped cultural and natural resources, including ground penetrating radar.
Given to an individual or an organization that is a WLIA member and has made a substantial contribution to WLIA activities or the Wisconsin Land Information Program (WLIP).
Barb served three years on the WLIA Board. Barb went above and beyond the call of duty serving as Education Chair. Barb put together many great regional conference programs. Barb’s effort and time spent will be missed by future Education Committees.
Martin has served 2 years on the WLIA board and is currently the president elect. Martin has served on numerous committees and has played an important role organizing moderators and student volunteers for our past few annual conferences.
Given to outgoing Board members as thanks for their service and dedication to the Wisconsin Land Information Association.
The President’s Award is a meritorious award given at the President’s discretion. The President may select someone at their discretion based on the support that person offers the President or the Association
Scott served five years on the WLIA Board and three additional years as an elected President for WLIA. Scott was the chair of the Education Committee and helped plan several great conferences during that time. As the outgoing Past President, Scott has enjoyed networking and sharing ideas throughout this great organization.
Scholarship recipients also receive a one-year WLIA student membership, free registration to the WLIA Annual Conference and recognition by the Association.
