Learn About the Intersection of Nature and Traditional Culture from Landscapes of Southern Wisconsin

Wisconsin is the center of effigy mound culture, and home to several groups of mounds built by Woodland and Mississippian peoples.  Rob Nurre, landscape historian and caretaker of the Man Mound near Baraboo, will discuss the role of GIS in researching and protecting sacred landscapes.  He will also present information on mound groups found near Delavan and the Lake Lawn Resort and the obscure sources he uses to recover their locations and histories.
