The City of Oshkosh (WI) and Houseal Lavigne Associates (IL) received an Esri Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) award at the 2018 User Conference in San Diego, CA.
The City of Oshkosh worked with Houseal Lavigne Associates to develop a plan to retain Oshkosh Corporation, which began a search for a new global headquarters location in 2017. Using ArcMap Desktop GIS and CityEngine, a project location was determined and 3D concept plans were created. This was critical to visualize what the campus could look like and help with a community dialogue to win over public support for the project, and ultimately convince Oshkosh Corporation to stay within the local community.
To learn more about the scope of the project, please read the full description on the Special Achievement in GIS Award page.
Furthermore, Devin Lavigne from Houseal Lavigne Associates won first place in the 3D Map category of the Map Gallery Contest at the Esri UC! The map titled, “An Economic Win for Geodesign,” showcased the concept plan for retaining Oshkosh Corporation within the local community of Oshkosh, WI and it’s development as it engaged the public and utilized GIS in innovative ways.
Congratulations to all award winners!
