WLIA Seeks Private Sector Representative for Wisconsin Land Information Council (WLIC)

The Wisconsin Land Information Council (WLIC) consists of 12 members and serves an advisory role to DOA on matters relating to the Wisconsin Land Information Program (WLIP). The Council is seeking applicants to serve on the council for a three year term. Current members are eligible to apply again.

The WLIC bylaws state, preference for appointees will be given to candidates who are nominated by a trade association. The DOA is relying on the WLIA to endorse a private sector geospatial professional candidate. This person can come from a wide variety of backgrounds and professions. Ideally, the person would meet the following criteria:

  • Be a member of the WLIA: The WLIA is a strong supporter of the WLIC and is committed to insuring the WLIC is a success. This person will communicate directly to the WLIA Board and membership. Many of the WLIC meetings will coincide with WLIA events.
  • Must work as a geospatial professional (not necessarily a GISP) in the private sector actively using Wisconsin land information. Candidates can range from consulting engineers, planners, application developers, etc. Sectors specifically named in the WLIC charter (realtor, utilities, land title/financial and surveyor) should seek endorsement through their respective organization.
  • Well informed of the Wisconsin Land Information Program.

If you are interested in serving on the council, send an email to Eric Damkot (eric.damkot@co.washington.wi.us) with the following two attachments:

Documents MUST be emailed no later than August 13th. The WLIA Board of Directors will vote on the endorsement  before the October 1, 2018 DOA deadline.

Thank you for your consideration in serving the WLIC,

Eric Damkot
WLIA President
