Anna Hogan
Anna is a Senior majoring in Hydrology with a minor in GIS. She discovered GIS her first year in college through a required entry level GIS course. Anna has used GIS extensively in classes and labs for her hydrology degree coursework as well as past summer internships at Ayres Associates and Waushara County.
Anna currently works as a GIS Assistant for the East Central Wisconsin Planning Commission, managing data and creating maps or visuals.
A meaningful map that Anna likes is the UW- Stevens Point Geography Alumni map (created by Christine Koeller). Alumni from the Geography Department can add themselves to the map to portray where their education from UWSP took them in their professional lives. https://uwsp.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StoryMapCrowdsource/index.html?appid=0a96749301ac43879071bc164ebdf729
When Anna is not in school or at work she likes to read, fish, and hike. She is also a student athlete (UW-SP Track & Field team and Team Captain 2016-2018).
This will be the first WLIA Annual Conference Anna has attended. She wants to get more involved in GIS conferences and learn/ explore new projects and ideas related to GIS.
Look for Anna at the 2019 Conference and congratulate her on winning a WLIA Scholarship!
