Our Spring Regional Meeting is just a little over three weeks away and if you are still contemplating whether you want to attend, Scott Galetka’s presentation, First Year With a UAS-Part III, is another reason to register.
Scott Galetka, the Land Records Administrator of Bayfield County, will go through some of the projects he has worked on during the first year of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) work. Bayfield County has three UAS, two in the Land Records Office and one in the Forestry Department. The UAVs that they operate are a Matrice 200 with x4s/thermal camera, a Mavic Pro, and a Phantom 3. Some projects he will share involve the search and rescue of a man in a remote area, a house explosion, a non-metallic mining inventory, quantifying material loss/comparison with LIDAR, looking for deer with Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), looking for lost cows, and a flood inventory. Scott will also share some Thermal Imagery/Video during his presentation. Bayfield County even has a federal waiver to hold night flights with their UAVs. Considering all that has been mentioned already this will be a content packed presentation that you won’t want to miss.
