We’re getting closer to the 2019 WLIA Spring Regional Meeting! You may be asking yourself, “What more is there to do during the meeting?” Make sure to check out our Special Interest Groups and meetings. This year we have Women in GIS – Wisconsin (WiGIS-WI), Land Information Officers Network (LION), Municipal GIS Users Group (MUGG), and the NEW Educators in GIS Network.
WiGIS-WI was created to collaborate with and encourage women in GIS and other related fields in Wisconsin. This group is open to those who would like to work in those endeavors. We invite members to share experiences, articles, noteworthy items, and inspiration. Join them for breakfast Friday Morning at 8:00 am in Wilson Hall E.
LION is a meeting of the Land Information Officers from around the state. If you are interested in county government and how the Land Information Program works, stop on by at 4:30 PM on Thursday in Wilson Hall B.
Interested in Municipal GIS? MUGG will be meeting Thursday at 4:30 PM on Thursday in Wilson Hall D.
Are you interested in grooming the next generation of GIS professionals? Come join the Educators in GIS Network, a group dedicated to connecting teachers; GIS professionals; and GeoMentors interested in fostering geospatial thinking and problem solving at the K-12 level. The first Special Interest Group Meeting will take place Thursday at 4:30 PM in Wilson Hall E.
