Do You Know any K-12 Teachers Who are Using GIS in their Classroom?

Educators in GIS Network is looking for Wisconsin K – 12 teachers who are currently utilizing and teaching GIS in their classroom. We would like to connect with them to see if they’d be interested in participating in the WLIA Annual Conference in Middleton. We are aiming to host a workshop for teachers who are either actively using GIS as a tool to teach concepts in their curriculum or teachers who want to use GIS but need more information and/or guidance. We anticipate that the workshop will include networking, classroom experiences from teachers/GeoMentors, discussions on the acquisition of data, and direct instruction in lesson plans and software. This is part of a long-term strategy to minimize barriers to incorporating GIS in the classroom by connecting teachers with mentors and resources.
