GIS Day 2019 at UW-Milwaukee will be coming up on Wednesday, November 20 (9am-4pm). Registration is now open!
The UWM GIS Council has again planned a full day of activities on campus that showcase Milwaukee-area GIS projects and resources. All sessions are free, but registration is appreciated. Go to the UWM GIS Council Page for the full schedule and more.
Activities include concurrent hands-on workshops, presentations by area GIS professionals, and a luncheon with featured speaker Dr. Ryan Covington. Ryan leads SkyTruth’s conservation technology program. His work combines geographic information science (GIS), remote sensing, and machine learning to identify, map, and monitor threats to the planet. Ryan holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he studied the spatial dynamics of environmental impact assessment, especially as they relate to questions of environmental injustice and human health risk.
