On November 12 the WLIA Board of Directors voted unanimously to register our support on Senate Bill 550. The focus of the bill is Condominium Law. A few highlights of the bill are the extension of the deadline for local review from 10 to 15 working days and correction instruments must now clearly state the changes being made to the document being modified or corrected. It also requires that condominium plats must include a clear and concise description that meets the requirements for a professional land surveyor certificate included on a Certified Survey Map. There are additional clarifications to recording requirements, changes in rules related to expanding condominiums and merger or consolidation of condominiums, as well as changes related to declarations and declarant rights and bylaw change notifications. To see all changes please read the bill text.
This bill was introduced by Senator Luther Olsen of Senate District 14, Senator Robert L. Cowles of Senate District 2 and Senator Jerry Petrowski of Senate District 29. The bill was read in and referred to the Committee on Utilities and Housing on November 8, 2019.
The WLIA Board of Directors also ratified address point and street centerline expanded documentation and separately approved minor revisions to the data standard revisions of 2019. All of this information can be found on the improved and updated WLIA Standards Page.
