The Damon Anderson Scholarship Endowment fund received two notable donations in the past month. Seiler Instruments donated $1000.00 to the fund during the Spring Regional Virtual Meeting. Also the Christine Koeller family donated $500.00 to the endowment in June. These donations will go a long way toward the goals of the endowment, outlined below.
“In 2020 The WLIA Foundation contracted with Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin to set up an endowment fund. The CFCW’s core focus is to work with groups like ours to provide scholarships and grants through non-profits like WLIA. They will help manage the Foundation’s investments so we are prepared for our future.
The WLIA Foundation’s initial goal is to raise $25,000 for the endowment fund. This will ensure that we can give at least one scholarship every year in perpetuity; our hope is that we can grow our fund and continue to support future generations of land records and geospatial professionals!”

Also, as we all know, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of most of the 2020 NBA season. For the 2020 WLIA Annual Conference, Greenfire Management Services, a successful Milwaukee-based construction management company, had donated a ticket package to a Milwaukee Bucks/Detroit Pistons game. Because of the game cancellation, WLIA refunded the winner and Greenfire proceeded to donate the $400.00 value directly to the Scholarship Fund!
WLIA would like to take this opportunity to thank Seiler Instruments, the Christine Koeller Family, and Greenfire Management Services, for their generous donations. These gifts, along with others from all of our silent auction donors, allow us to sponsor multiple $1000.00 scholarships every year for students of GIS, Geography and Geospatial Studies. We thank them all for their ongoing support!
“It’s for the kids!”
