Join us Thursday, October 15th for Municipal and Apps Day! The day kicks off 11 am-Noon with the Educators in GIS Network (EiGN) Special Interest Group. Then pop in at 12:30 to join us for “Where’s My Stapler,” an informal lunch gab session. Turn your camera on and talk to your peers (and no, you don’t have to talk about your favorite stapler)!
The main event begins at 1 pm with some excellent apps demos. First, join Jonathan Hodel of Cloudpoint Geospatial on “Raising the Roof on Facility Mapping with ArcGIS Indoors.” Get a high-level view of the necessary components for getting a facility’s map up and moving and how you can begin laying the groundwork to make it happen.
Next up, join Emily Pierce of Berntsen International on how to “Extend ArcGIS in the Field with RFID for Asset Management”. Learn how to streamline asset management inspections. If you work with municipal water and utilities or manage asset datasets, this is for you. Afterwards, hang around for the second half of the break to enjoy a movie quote challenge. Take a guess and earn yourself some free swag.
After the break, Tyler Prahl, with GISinc, will be presenting “ESRI’s Utility Network – Lessons Learned, What to Expect”. GISinc has been leading the charge and will share their insights on the UN. Then join the Municipal Users GIS Group (MUGG) for a discussion regarding county and municipal partnerships. Following, MUGG will use Zoom breakout rooms to have smaller groups to chat, ask questions, and bounce ideas off one another.
Regardless if you join us for the day’s events or not, make sure to hop on the Zoom line after hours for two social activities. First, join us for Happy Hour with the Board or “Happy Hour with the Bored” as some of us like to call it. WLIA Board members will be hanging out immediately after the MUGG meeting. We’ll chill out and chat or if we really are bored, we’ll play a little WLIA Board Bingo. If you have to run home first, no worries. Board Members will be hanging as long as other members are too!
The evening concludes with Game Night starting at 7 pm. We will have a selection of Zoom friendly games prepared to play. Prizes will be handed out throughout the night, but the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the banter!
