This year’s Fall
Regional Virtual Meeting is allowing for opportunities for collaboration like we have never seen before! We are excited to partner with organizations and to bring in speakers for this event that would have been exceedingly difficult to bring together in one event had we been meeting in person. The organizations that will be joining us for the Fall Virtual Meeting are the Wisconsin Real Property Listers (WRPLA), Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association (WRDA), and Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium (MN GIS/LIS.) We will also be joined by the “usual suspects”, the Wisconsin Land Information Officers Network (LION) and the Wisconsin Land Information Council (WLIC.)
We have set aside Tuesday, October 13 as Land Records Day. Wednesday morning from 9am-noon, WRPLA will have their business meeting followed by a panel discussion in which the “old pros” will be able to mentor the “up and comers.” The business meeting and panel discussion are open to anyone so if you ever wanted to know what the property listers do, here’s your chance. What have the Registers of Deeds been doing during the pandemic to fulfill their duties? Find out from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. The LION meeting starts at 3:30. All are welcome to that meeting as well.
We will see WLIC and MN GIS/LIS on Wednesday, October 14. WLIC will hold their meeting from 9:00 – 11:00 am. All are welcome. (Do you see a theme here?) and MN GIS/LIS will present a GIS Careers Panel Discussion moderated by the chair of the Professional Development Committee Andy King-Scribbins. If you are just starting out, mid-career or an “old-timer” there will be something for you.
It’s not too late to register FOR FREE! We look forward to “seeing” you October 12-16!
