In a short time, the year 2020 will be in our rear-view mirror and we can collectively look forward to the opportunities that 2021 will present. One of the first learning opportunities we will have in the new year will be the WLIA 2021 Annual Conference. Our 34th conference, titled, “Modernizing and Moving Confidently Forward,” will be held on February 15-19, 2021.
This all virtual conference offers a wonderful smorgasbord of educational opportunities! There are more than 50 educational sessions and 13 technical workshops, all of which provide more than 80 hours of practical and purposeful learning opportunities and training. We will also hear from three solid and engaging keynote speakers, Este Geraghty, Kevin Ehrman-Solberg, and Robert Young Pelton. Each speaker brings a special perspective to our conference and we are thrilled to have them on board with us! In addition, attendees can take part in eight Special Interest Group meetings and a Virtual Town Hall forum.
Familiar event favorites like the Map Contest, Silent Auction, Awards and Scholarships are still on the docket as well. Our exhibitors and vendors will be available in a Virtual Exhibit Hall in a platform called Remo. There will also be interactive games and many opportunities for professional and social networking.
The WLIA Annual Conference Committee and the WLIA Board are genuinely excited about this conference and they hope you are too. This conference offers tremendous value to attendees. Where else can you find a week’s worth of training for the member rate of $125? The nonmember rate is $180, and students can attend for only $20.
With all we have to look forward to at the 2021 WLIA Annual Conference, the new year is already looking better! Make plans now to be a part of the fun!
