Conference Highlight: Pandemic Reponse Track

Were you involved in the pandemic response? Or are you curious how others handled it as you watched from afar? On Tuesday, February 16th, from 1-4 pm, listen in as several counties talk about the different ways GIS was asked to help inform and educate the public, and then hear from our state for the latest updates and developments

First, join a panel discussion as Kim Meinert (Waukesha County), Zachary Swingen (Milwaukee County) and Eric Damkot (Washington County) talk about how neighboring counties took different paths to create their Covid-19 Dashboards. They’ll discuss not only the technology, but how sometimes the politics of the pandemic and unique reqirements of the constituency drove what was displayed. They invite anyone else who was involved in their own local response to comment as well!

Next, Kimberly Christman and Emily Szabo of Racine County will be joined by Kyle Wikstrom of Pro-West & Associates to discuss how their county mobilized their ArcGIS Hub site. See how GIS was called to not only display geographical information and statistics, but to disseminate timely and accurate information on how the public could manage the pandemic.

Lastly, Andy Swartz from the WI Department of Health Services will give an update from the GIS team and reflect on how the past year has gone along with some data updates.
