Hot off the (Esri) Press

New silent auctions items just in include five books from esri Press signed by president, Jack Dangermond! These were heavily sought-after items at last year’s conference when Jack presented as a conference keynote, and received a Friend of Land Records award from WLIA.

While we will miss his presence this year, Jack was generous enough to autograph and donate copies of the esri Press books including, Women and GIS: Mapping Their Stories (Hardcover), GIS for Science, and Roger Tomlinson’s Thinking About GIS,

We also now have pictures of a couple of custom crafted items donated by the Wisconsin Real Property Listers Association (WRPLA), including a three track cribbage board and a 3’ bench with the WLIA motto engraved on it.

Of course we’re always looking for more items, because “it’s for the kids,” as we all know. If you’d like to donate an item, we’ve made it easy to donate at this link.

Remember that bidding for the auction opens this coming Monday, 2/9/2021 at 9:00 AM. This is a week earlier than the conference to encourage competitive bidding. It also allows you to bid both early and often, as the saying goes.

And, finally, thanks to everyone who has donated so far! Your donations will help us toward our goal of $3000 to provide scholarships for students pursuing degrees in Geography, Urban Planning, GIS and Geospatial Studies.
