DMA Announces March 2021 NG911 GIS Educational Sessions

The Department of Military Affairs’ Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) announced four regional Geographic Information Systems (GIS) virtual educational sessions, scheduled for the first two weeks in March 2021.  These sessions will provide a brief overview of the Wisconsin OEC and the NextGeneration9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) program, information on the statewide GIS Data Assessment, and training on the recently published NG9-1-1 GIS Standards and Best Practices Guide.  These sessions will provide important information to all stakeholders involved in GIS for 9-1-1 services in Wisconsin, on the anticipated changes coming with GIS data for NG9-1-1.

The intended audience for these sessions are the 9-1-1 center and GIS stakeholders across the state, including:

•             Land Information Officers, GIS Specialists, etc.

•             9-1-1 Administrators/Managers/Supervisors

•             9-1-1 Technical Managers/IT Specialists

No RSVP is needed, but attendees are encouraged to attend their respective regional session, but are welcome to attend whichever date is most convenient.  All sessions will be identical presentations and the PowerPoint slides and recording will be posted after the meetings for those that cannot attend.  For information on what region a county falls within please refer to the Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) Regions.
