We are fast approaching WLIA Spring Regional which will be held May 30-31 at the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire. Along with our outstanding speakers we will have several opportunities to network with peers at different meetings and special interest groups.

Thursday at 4:30 you can attend the Land Information Officers Network Meeting (LION) meeting, Municipal Users GIS Group (MUGG) or the NEW Educators in GIS Network. The LION meeting is an in person (and call-in for those that can’t make it to the regional) meeting of the Land Information Officers in the state. You do not have to be an LIO to attend. If you have are interested in what LION is working on, you are welcome to attend. You should attend MUGG if you work in or have an interest in municipal government. The NEW Educators in GIS Network is for those interested in fostering geospatial thinking at the K-12 level by connecting teachers, GIS professionals and GeoMentors.

Friday May 31 Women in GIS – Wisconsin will have a breakfast meeting at 8:00 am. This special interest group was created to collaborate with and encourage women in GIS and other related fields in Wisconsin. This open and inclusive group is open to those who would like to work in those endeavors
