11:00 – 12:00 ArcGIS Pro: Essential Workflows and Extended Capabilities - Part 1

Jarod Fox, Esri

ArcGIS Pro is the latest professional desktop GIS application from Esri. With ArcGIS Pro, you can explore, visualize, and analyze data; create 2D maps and 3D scenes; and share your work to your ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise portal. This workshop will provide an introduction to the software for new users, demonstrate essential workflows, and discuss how ArcGIS Pro integrates within your broader geospatial infrastructure.

12:00 – 12:30 Meet Your Local Esri Team (bring your lunch!)

Bring your lunch as we get to know our Local Esri Team and chat about what's going on around the state.

12:30 – 1:30 ArcGIS Pro: Essential Workflows and Extended Capabilities - Part 2

Continue on your ArcGIS Pro learning journey as we dive deeper into the technology.

1:30 – 3:30 Parcel Maps vs. Survey Maps vs. GIS Legal Status

Steve Sorenson, von Briesen & Roper, SC

We'll discuss the differences between the three different tools used to describe real property, with special attention given to the legal status of each. We'll examine the historical development of each, showing how different players in real estate use and misuse them. Further, we'll look at the different uses of legal descriptions, the impact of reliance on public record data vs actual field data, platting vs historical use and occupancy, and finally, risk and liability when providing public data. Bring your questions!
