Get involved!
We are always looking for volunteers to serve on our committees! The only qualification is you must be a WLIA member in order to serve. Contact the committee chairperson for more information, or to volunteer.
Annual Conference
- Develop, coordinate, and implement the program for the annual conference.
- Membership shall consist of chairperson, all members of the board, and other members of the association. The president-elect shall chair the committee. The terms of appointment shall be for one year.
Awards
- Develops and recommends a list of award recipients for the annual conference.
- The president shall appoint the committee membership consisting of a minimum of two current directors and two at-large members with the past president serving as chairperson.
Nominations
- Develops and recommends a slate of candidates for annual elections representative of the association membership for the board of directors approval.
- The president shall appoint the committee membership consisting of a minimum of two current directors and two at-large members with the past president serving as chairperson.
Communications
- Promote communication, interaction, and cooperation among the association, other professional associations and organizations, and the public.
- Membership of the committee shall consist of a chairperson(s), a newsletter editor-in-chief, and other members of the association as appointed by the chairperson. The president shall appoint a chairperson who shall be a member of the board. The terms of appointment shall be for one year.
Education
- Develop and assist others in developing educational programs and materials for members and organizations that are facing land information issues and implementing Land / Geographic Information Systems
- Membership of the committee shall consist of a chairperson(s) and other members of the association as appointed by the chairperson. The president shall appoint a chairperson who shall be a member of the board. The terms of appointment shall be for one year.
Legislative Issues
- Monitor proposed legislation and assess the impact of how it may affect the land information program and the association.

Membership and Outreach
- Actively recruit those who foster the understanding, development, operation, and maintenance of land information.
- Works to establish strong working relationships with external organizations and develops and maintains a marketing and public relations plan for the association.
- Membership of the committee shall consist of a chairperson(s) and other members of the association as appointed by the chairperson. The president shall appoint a chairperson who shall be a member of the board. The terms of appointment shall be for one year.
Scholarship
- Promotes the Damon Anderson Memorial Scholarship to educational institutions to encourage applicants.
- Maintains the workflow of the application and award process, including reviewing applications, awarding scholarships, recording activities, and organizing fundraising via the Annual Conference Silent Auction.

Technical Issues and Information Policies
- Establish task forces to study land information issues and provide a forum for examining new land information ideas.
