Are you ready for the Northwoods retreat? That is, the Fall Regional Meeting up in Minocqua from October 18th – 20th with our friends from PRIA Local!
Our team of WLIA Board and general members have gathered a great line up of GIS and land information content that will surely keep you on your toes. From Esri field apps to NextGen 911 updates, and insight on advancing geospatial and land information systems from a former WLIA member, we are sure to learn a great deal to bring back home with us.
Donations donations donations!
Before you head out for the conference, don’t forget to grab items for the food drive! All nonperishable food and hygiene items will be donated to the Lakeland Pantry, which supports community members of the Minocqua and neighboring towns. Sparse on nonperishable items to donate? We are also accepting cash donations for the pantry. Regardless, make sure to donate as your contributions are going to a good cause, AND you will receive a raffle ticket for every one item or one dollar! These raffle tickets will be placed in a drawing for a gift basket put together by WLIA Board members. The winner will be announced at the Thursday night social event, so please contribute before 4pm on Thursday.
There will also be a silent auction, filled with some amazing prizes for the highest bidders. Members can expect to see awesome gift cards for restaurants and hotel stays, as well as some sweet treats, unique beverages and even more. All winning bids will be put toward the WLIA Foundation’s Damon Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund, which assist students working toward a degree in realms of geography, land information, geographic information systems and urban planning. The WLIA will take cash, card or check for this so please consider participating - anyone could win big!
As always, WLIA members will be roaming around during Thursday’s lunch extending the offer to get in on the 50/50 raffle! This will be cash only so make sure to grab some bills!
Network amongst friends!
WLIA social and networking events are always a hoot, and this meeting’s will be no different. On Wednesday night, meet the crew down at Northern Waters Distillery for pizza and a tour of the facility, starting at 6 pm. Then, Thursday we will wander down to The Thirsty Whale for great dinner right on the water, and then after there will be a bonfire back at the Pointe Suites and Hotel to enjoy!
