How did you come to your current profession or job?
Last October 10th on a quiet Friday afternoon I was going through my emails at the end of the work week and saw a job posting that seemed like it was a perfect fit for my skillset. I’d been working with my employer for 20 years. I was content, but with tight budgets and not knowing if that would ever change, I thought this might be my last chance to experience something new and perhaps an opportunity for additional late career professional growth.
What’s your most favorite part and least favorite part of your job?
I love being able to focus on work with limited interruptions as I feel that I can accomplish so much more. My least favorite thing is that the office is no longer a few minutes away, it's a few hours!
What’s the best advice someone has ever given you?
Be kind, keep quiet, and focus on your work.
What do you like to do for fun? (Hobbies, volunteer work, etc.)
I am at a transition of sorts where my life is shifting from being kid focused to whatever the future holds. I have spent a lot of time volunteering my time towards the extracurricular organizations that support what my children were involved with in middle school and high school. Aside from that, I like to do what a lot of people do in Wisconsin, enjoy four seasons outdoors, root for the Brewers, Badgers, and Packers, attend festivals and concerts, go supper clubbing (eat good food and drink good drinks), enjoy some comedy now and then, and of course most important hang with my friends and talk about all the stuff I just mentioned.
Give me some of your favorite food and drink spots in Wisconsin!

A flight of Old Fashioneds I enjoyed at the Old Towne Inn
Old Rittenhouse Inn for their famous five course meal
What’s something most people wouldn’t guess about you?
My favorite teacher in high school was my band director. My main instrument was alto saxophone, but I also played tenor sax and baritone sax. In marching band and pep band I often played the quad toms, tri toms, or bass drum depending on what was needed that day. Also, fun fact: if I could walk a perfectly straight line south from my childhood home I would end up at my dorm room at UW-Platteville. I would have walked 125.03 miles at a bearing of S 0.02° E. There is no direct route; driving takes about 3 hours and 8 minutes for 160 miles on good roads or about 3 hours and 15 minutes for a slightly shorter 150-mile route using shortcuts through what feels like nowhere.
Where would you most like to travel to and why?
I still haven’t been able to see Redwood and Sequoia trees in person so a trip to the Pacific Northwest still tops my list. I want to see the sheer massiveness of these trees in person as I assume that pictures and diagrams don’t do them justice. Despite enjoying traveling around, perhaps my favorite place is being on the family farm enjoying its beauty in all four seasons. A view of the many peaks is visible from the family farm, which lies on the south side of the Marshfield Moraine, stretching from the Marshfield to Neillsville area.
