2025 Virtual Workshops
Our Summer Virtual Workshops are returning! Details are below.
Workshop 1
A Knowledge Worker's Guide to Visual Management
“Visual Management is the application of Lean and Agile practices to build new ways of working for individuals and teams on-the-fly” (Modus Institute).
In our highly interactive workshop, we will concentrate on…
-
- How we as professionals are doing the right work?
- How do we come to alignment?
- How do we make decisions?
- Do we understand the work to be done?
- When is it to be delivered?
- How complex is the work?
- Where might the work stumble?
- Can we see what is important?
We take a system thinking approach to the complexities of new/unexplored work, (mis)understanding, decision-less meetings, interruptions, prioritization, communicating decisions and difficulty of collaboration. We will introduce the system of communications, system of meetings and the system of doing the right work at the right time.
We will conduct practical exercises that focus on visualizing our work in progress. We will look at value stream mapping as an effective visualization and put those visualizations into action. Ultimately, we will turn learning into action items.

Workshop 2
Webhook Workshop: MAKE-ing Work Easier
Looking to automate repetitive processes that would otherwise take hours? This workshop will take you from maybe not knowing what webhooks are, to being able to create your own custom webhook scenarios! The workshop will primarily teach you how to use webhooks to integrate GIS with a variety of other programs, including demonstrations of automatically generating reports, sending emails, sending texts, uploading documentation, and much more! A free month subscription will be provided to attendees of the workshop, so you can demo it to others afterwards. If you are looking to continue expanding upon our initial workshop webhooks, you are in luck; MAKE only costs approximately $100 per year, making it a low budget solution to your repetitive tasks!
