Scott Botcher will discuss techniques to successfully pitch your municipal budget. Focus on community needs, transparent communication, alignment with strategic goals and objectives, while highlighting potential benefits and pre-emptively addressing concerns, all within organizational financial parameters, which are the foundations of any budget.
Mr. Scott Botcher has served as Village Manager for Fox Point, Wisconsin since 2015. Mr. Botcher started his career in local government in 1987 while still in graduate school, serving as the first City Administrator in Young America, Minnesota. He later served as the first City Administrator in Delafield, Wisconsin from 1994-1999, and as City Manager in Chanhassen, Minnesota from 1999-2001, after which he stepped away and became a stay-at-home parent. Leading with a focus on strategic initiatives and financial acumen, the Village of Fox Point has successfully maintained a AAA bond rating from Moody's Investors Services for six consecutive years. This achievement has positioned Fox Point as the only village in Wisconsin with such a rating, reflecting a commitment to fiscal responsibility and core municipal strategic investment.
Mr. Botcher also serves Chair of the North Shore Water Commission as well as the Fox Point Board of Review, and is on the Board of the Greater Delafield Community Fund. An unabashed hockey dad, Mr. Botcher holds a Bachelors in Public Administration from Winona State University, a Masters in Public Administration from Hamline University, and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at University of Minnesota.
