Posted By: Carmen Novak Annual Conference,

We're highlighting Workshops and Tracks to get you excited for Game Day.  Which will you pick?  The full preliminary agenda is available here and Sched, our online scheduling system, will be up soon with the final agenda.

Kicking off on Wednesday morning is a workshop on "Title Insurance: The Basics and Beyond." Presented by Lisa Peterson with Chicago Title, this workshop will provide a great opportunity to learn more about the other side of real estate transactions. Topics covered will include: what a title policy actually covers, what types of claims are paid, what information a title agent uses from our offices, the impact of the new easement law in WI, and how title companies use surveys in their work. This workshop is touchdown quality!

In the second half of the gameday, Wednesday afternoon will offer a workshop titled, "How a Chicago Bears Fan Plans to Steal Lambeau Field - Property Fraud, It's Happening Near You!" Cybercrime, which includes property fraud, is on the rise. Learn about the history, impacts, and an interactive discussion including real life cases. Attend this workshop to learn more about this property fraud foul-play.

Moving into Thursday morning, there are several great breakout educational sessions planned. A track titled, "Property Mapping Issues, Tools, and Workflows" will contain several in-depth sessions on these important topics. Make this track your number one draft pick!

  • Got It Surveyed! Brown County's GIS-Based Survey Index, presented by Jeff DuMez, Chad Miller, and Ryan Duckart of Brown County, will cover the process of scanning and indexing surveys using GIS, making images easily retrievable from the GIS Survey Index App.
  • Nothing Personal... Just Keepin' It Real - Managing the Spatial Component of the Personal Property Shift to the Real Estate Roll, will cover the elimination of the personal property tax in Wisconsin, it's impacts, and the new workflows ahead. Don't miss this session to learn more about how PP will be weaved into RE listings for future real estate tax parcel maintenance.
